Non-Destructive Leak Detector C690H Delivers High-Accuracy, High-Throughput CCI Testing for Pharma Packaging

Labthink C690H Non-Destructive Leak Detector uses a vacuum-based testing method (and also a positive pressure method) to find tiny leaks in different kinds of containers. It's built according to international standards like ASTM F2338 and is particularly useful for checking various packaging in industries like food, pharmaceuticals, daily chemicals, and electronics, such as vials, ampoule, cartridge bottles, infusion bottles and prefilled syringes.

How it works

It works by placing the sample in a sealed chamber, creating a vacuum, and then using sensors and a fluid dynamics model to calculate the leak rate and the size of the leak based on how fast the pressure drops.

It can operate in two modes:

  • Vacuum mode: It creates a negative pressure (vacuum) around the sample and measures how quickly the pressure inside the sample drops. This works well for most packaging types because the vacuum helps to "pull" out any leaks, making them easier to detect.
  • Positive pressure mode: It applies positive pressure (pushes air in) to the sample. This is particularly useful for packaging with special structures or for products like powders, where tiny holes might get blocked in a vacuum. Applying positive pressure helps to "flush out" and detect these blocked leaks.

Key features

Precision

The machine can detect very small leaks, down to 38 μm (which meets the USP <1207> standard for reference hole sizes). It's very precise, with a resolution of 0.1 micrometers and consistent results (repeatability error of only ±1 micrometer).

Efficiency

Labthink C690H has an automatic sample feeder that can test many samples continuously (from 20 to 120).

Micro-flow control with advanced algorithms to simulate different leak sizes without needing manual adjustments.

Compliance

Data traceability to the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and compliance with international standards like ASTM F2338 and USP <1207>. It also meets strict requirements for the pharmaceutical industry, like GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 for electronic signatures.

In short, Labthink C690H is an ideal tool for ensuring product sealing integrity. It combines vacuum decay and positive pressure testing to accurately detect tiny leaks, offers automated sample handling, and provides smart analysis, all while complying with global industry standards, especially in demanding fields like pharmaceuticals and electronics.
